Background

The iPhone 16 was announced on September 9th, 2024 during Apple's Glowtime event, alongside the other iPhone 16 models, AirPods, and Apple Watch Series 10. The iPhone 16 was designed around Apple intelligence, Apple's suite of AI-driven features to enable more intuitive and complex tasks from user's everyday behavior. Siri was also featured at the event with improvements in voice recognition and comprehension.

The iPhone 16 features a dual-camera system like the iPhone 15, with a 48 MP Main camera and a 12 MP Ultra Wide camera. One of the most prominent new features in the iPhone 16 lineup is Camera Control, a new exterior button for capturing photos and videos Camera Control is a physical button that also supports capacitative touch controls, and is located on the lower half of the right edge, right where your right pointer finger naturally rests while snapping landscape images.

Some improvements in the iPhone 16 include the A18 processor's 6-core CPU, which is 30% faster and 30% more energy-efficient, using significantly less power compared to the iPhone 15. The 5-core GPU in the iPhone 16 is up to 40% faster than the GU performance in the iPhone 15.

The iPhone 16 has a starting price of $799 and was released on September 20th, 2024. It is available in 5 colors, Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White, and Black.

You can identify the iPhone 16 by the model number printed inside of the USB-C charge port.
