Background
The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) is a smart speaker released by Amazon in 2021 and is a part of the Amazon Echo line of products. The Amazon Echo Show 8 is still being produced and sold currently. The Amazon Echo Show 8 is currently being sold for $130 on the Amazon website as well as other retailers such as Best Buy and Target.
The smart speaker has touchscreen capabilities and allows for hands-free video calls. While making video calls the camera frames and centers automatically. As well as using the voice-activated Alexa feature to set timers, update lists, and check the news. It also has smart home features, allowing customers to see while they are away through already built-in cameras or with other compatible devices. Customers can stream shows and movies with Hulu, Netflix, and more. Lastly, customers can display personal photos on the home screen through Amazon Photos.
The device is sold internationally however it is a separate version with an EU power adapter. Amazon currently is only shipping this version to Argentina, Chile, Indonesia, South Korea, and Thailand. The device has not been recalled since its release in 2021. Additionally, the most recent model is the Amazon Echo Show 8 third generation. The third generation comes with a centered camera and improved audio quality.

Identification
The Amazon Echo Show 8 2nd Gen is an 8” screen smart speaker with the camera lens located at the top right of the screen. On the top of the device, there are three buttons. From left to right, the buttons are the microphone on and off, the volume decreaser, and the volume increaser. Just above the camera lens, there is a shutter switch to turn the camera on or off. At the back of the speaker, there are two port slots for the wall adapter and a Micro-USB slot. The serial number is located at the bottom of the speaker printed above a bar code. The device comes in the colors Charcoal and Glacier White.
