Local elections were held in Marikina on May 10, 2004, as part of the general election. The voters elected one mayor, one vice mayor, one representative for the city's lone district, and twelve councilors, six per district.
Background
Mayor Maria Lourdes "Marides" Fernando was on her first term, and she ran for re-election for second term. She was challenged by singer-actor Jose Parsons Nabiula of PMP, Benjamin "Nonong" Molina Jr., Richard "Dick" Curry, and Evenicula "Bing" Maglajos of DGIPP.
Vice Mayor Marion Andres was on his first term, and he ran for re-election for second term.[1] He was challenged by Rudy Francisco and Maribel "Cookie" Espinosa.
Rep. Del De Guzman was on his first term and he ran for re-election for second term.
