The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. The Jaguars compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the AFC South division. The team plays its home games at EverBank Stadium in Central Jacksonville. The Jaguars joined the NFL in 1995 as an expansion team, along with the Carolina Panthers.[2][3][4]
The Jaguars are one of four teams to have never played in a Super Bowl, along with the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, and Houston Texans.[5] Despite never having played in a Super Bowl, the team has played in the AFC Championship Game on three occasions (1996, 1999, and 2017). Additionally, the team has won a division title four times; two as part of the AFC Central Division (1998 and 1999) and two as part of the AFC South (2017 and 2022).[2] They have made the playoffs a total of eight times.
As of the end of the 2023 season, the Jaguars have an all-time record of 198 wins, 269 losses, and 0 ties in the regular season, with an additional 8 wins and 8 losses in the playoffs.[6][7] The team has had ten winning seasons, two 8–8 seasons, and seventeen losing seasons.[6] The Jaguars are the only active franchise to have never had a tie game.[8]
