Justin Matthew Paperny (born 1975) is an American former stockbroker who in 2007 was convicted of financial crimes, including conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and securities fraud, and spent 18 months in prison. After his release in 2009 he started a consulting firm that advises defendants accused of white collar and other nonviolent crimes.

Early life

Paperny was born in 1975 and grew up in Encino, California. He graduated from Montclair College Preparatory School in 1993. He played baseball for the University of Southern California[1] for three years, before graduating in 1997.

Stockbroker

Paperny joined Merrill Lynch as a stockbroker. In 2005, Paperny was part of a securities fraud scheme, which ultimately led to his criminal conviction and in 2007 an 18-month federal prison term.[2][3][1]

Consultant

After his release from prison in 2009, Paperny started a consulting firm to advise other defendants accused of white collar crimes.[2][1]

Personal life

Paperny is married with children.[1]
