Hailo Technologies (or simply Hailo) is a Israeli AI technology company specializing in designing and manufacturing AI processors used in autonomous vehicles, security cameras, autonomous mobile robots, etc.[1][2][3]
Headquartered in Tel Aviv and seven international offices, the company operates in North America, Europe, and Asia.[4][5]
History
Hailo was founded in Tel Aviv in February 2017 by Orr Danon, Avi Baum, Hadar Zeitlin, and Rami Feig.[6] Following the demise of Rami Feig, co-founder, and CEO,[7] Orr Danon has taken over as the new CEO, while Avi Baum became CTO.[7] The company's funding began with a June 5, 2017, seed round, amassing $3.5 million. This was followed by Series A funding on June 5, 2018 (with additional funding on January 22, 2019), totaling $12.5 million and $8.5 million respectively.[1][8][9][10]
Hailo unveiled its Hailo-8 AI accelerator on May 14, 2019.[11][4][12]
In subsequent years, Hailo secured Series B funding of $60 million on March 5, 2020,[1] and a Series C funding of $136 million on October 12, 2021, led by Poalim Equity and Gil Agmon, with the participation of existing investors Zohar Zisapel (Hailo Chairman), Swiss-based ABB Technology Ventures (ATV), London's Latitude Ventures, and Israel's OurCrowd.[11][13][7] The financing was done at a valuation of $1 billion, making Hailo a unicorn.[14]
Also in 2021, Mooly Eden, former Senior VP at Intel, joined Hailo's board of directors, and Eyal Waldman, co-founder and former CEO of Mellanox Technologies, joined its advisory board.[7][13] Hailo's Hailo-8 AI Processor became 2021 Edge AI and Vision Product of the Year Award Winner in the Edge AI Processors category.[15][16]
The subsequent launch of their Hailo-15 vision processors occurred in March 2023.[15]
The company introduced their Hailo-8L entry-level AI accelerators and the Hailo-8 Century high-performance PCIe cards in August 2023.[12][13][17]
