MODRETRO Chromatic Disassembly
Tools
These are some common tools used to work on this device. You might not need every tool for every procedure.
Background
The ModRetro Chromatic is a handheld that ModRetro founder Palmer Luckey envisioned to be "the ultimate tribute" to the Game Boy®. The Chromatic plays Game Boy® (GB), Game Boy Color® (GBC), and Chromatic game cartridges. It has a magnesium alloy body and PBT plastic buttons. The screen's a sunlight readable backlit (not reflective) LCD that's color-calibrated to match the GBC and has the same pixel resolution as the GB/GBC. The Chromatic runs on three AAA batteries or an optional li-ion battery pack.
The Chromatic comes in various colors (as well as an exclusive GameStop grey model) and retails for $199.
Identification
The ModRetro Chromatic looks like a thicker, metallic Game Boy Color®. MODRETRO is marked above the screen, and CHROMATIC is labeled above the D-pad.
