The 1949 musical movie It's a Great Feeling ends with the character played by Doris Day returning to her hometown of Goerke's Corners, that is, the Town of Brookfield.

By car

Interstate 94 is the main east-west route through Brookfield. It connects the city with Waukesha and other points west, as well as with Milwaukee and Chicago to the east and southeast.

By bus

In addition to commuter services, Waukesha Metro has a single bus route on Bluemound Road that connects to additional routes in Waukesha to the west and Milwaukee and Wauwatosa to the east.

By bicycle

There is a connection to Milwaukee via the Oak Leaf Trail at Krueger Park. Just to the south of Brookfield in New Berlin, the New Berlin Trail provides connections towards Waukesha and Milwaukee; trailheads exist at several streets and parks.

Get around

Most destinations require a car. If you are going to some place on Bluemound Road or to Brookfield Square, the Waukesha Metro might be usable.

  • 🌍 Dousman Stagecoach Inn Museum, 1075 Pilgrim Parkway, +1 262 782-4057. 1st and 3rd Su from 1PM-4PM May through October (Except Labor Day). This historical building was built in 1842 but moved to its current location in 1981. The Inn also hosts events like an American Civil War encampment reenactment. $6.
