Wajir City is the capital of Wajir county, Eastern Kenya.
Wajir City has a population of 90,116 people (2019).
Somali, Swahili, and English are the main spoken languages, so you may or may not be able to communicate with locals. The Kenyan shilling and the American dollars will both be widely accepted.
There are taxi services including Kaributaxi from the airport to locations around the city. Auto-rickhaws (three-wheeled small vehicles) are popular here.
You can also get around in matatus (minibuses).
There is a wildlife refuge near the town known as Marsabit National Park & Reserve.
The I-Mall is the largest mall in Wajir, and is full of stores and such.
