Janakkala is a fast-growing rural municipality located around 95 km north of Helsinki and around 16 km southeast of Hämeenlinna. Its two largest urban areas are Turenki, the administrative centre of the municipality, and Tervakoski.

Saint Lawrence Church
  • 🌍 Saint Lawrence Church (Pyhän Laurin kirkko), Hakoistentie 345 (in the old church village). The last of Tavastia's medieval stone churches. The church's builder is assumed to be Marshal Åke Tott (1598–1640), who was the master of Häme Castle at that time, although the church was originally inaugurated already in 1520.
