Sikachi-Alyan
human settlement in Khabarovsky District, Khabarovsk Krai, Russia
Sikachi-Alyan is a small Nanai village on the bank of Amur river located 75 km north of Khabarovsk. The place is famous for petroghliphs ("masks"), the neolithic drawings carved in basalt stones. The road to Sikachi-Alyan is not bad by Russian standards. There is also a tourist center "Velkom" in front of the entrance to the village, where one can enjoy exposition of aboriginal artefacts and findings. The reconstructed wooden houses and boats of ancient people are scattered around to give the idea of living in different periods in this region.
