Shaktoolik

city in Nome Census Area, Alaska, United States

Shaktoolik is a very small village along Norton Sound. This community has been moved twice because of encroaching seas, a result of global warming that has melted a lot of Arctic ice.

  • the Iditarod Trail
  • the Shaktoolik Airport, which is served by Bering Air to nearby communities and Nome, which is served by Alaska Airlines.
