Serra do Itajaí National Park is in the state of Santa Catarina, in the South of Brazil. The Serra do Itajaí PARNA encompasses a representative area of the Atlantic Forest biome

It has an area of 574 km² (141,780 acres). It is one of the three large forest fragments still existing in Santa Catarina, geographically located between the Serra do Tabuleiro state park, to the south, and the Serra da Dona Francisca, to the north.

History

It was created in 2004.

Protected species in the park include cougar (Puma concolor), margay (Leopardus wiedii), vinaceous-breasted amazon (Amazona vinacea), white-necked hawk (Buteogallus lacernulatus), white-bearded antshrike (Biatas nigropectus) and Phylloscartes.
