Saint-Amable is a picturesque and modern town in the regional county municipality (MRC) of Marguerite-D'Youville, in Montérégie, in Quebec, Canada.

Saint-Amable is an agricultural, industrial and recreational tourism destination. Its built heritage has an old and modern charm, depending on the area. The main attractions of this city are:

  • its two large wooded areas, designated Bois de Saint-Amable (east side) and Bois de Verchères (north and west side), which are located more or less on the outskirts of the municipal territory; and
  • its Le Rocher park, home to a protected natural environment and offering recreational tourism infrastructure.

  • From Montréal (36 km, time: 38 min. Take the Jacques-Cartier bridge (east); take route 132 (eastbound); take Highway 20 (Eastbound); take Highway 30 (northbound); take chemin de la Belle Rivière leading to rue Principale de Saint-Amable.
  • From Quebec (233 km, time: 2 hr 29 min). Take Autoroute 20 (westbound) to the Sainte-Julie exit; take Route 229 (northwest direction) to Chemin de la Belle Rivière; take this last road which leads to rue Principale de Saint-Amable.

  • 🌍 Parc Le Rocher, 215, rue Thomas, ☏ +1 450-649-3555. 370-acre outdoor regional recreational tourism site, developed on a former Ministry of Transport sand pit. This site includes an area of protected natural environments and a recreational area. Its creative summer facilities are: gazebo, swings, walking paths, lighted sports fields (soccer, baseball, pétanque) and a very large free play area. The winter recreational facilities are: belvedere, ice rink for free skating (lit in the evening), snow-covered sliding slope, hiking trails, snowshoe trails and cross-country ski trails. This site, which has a reception chalet, was acquired in 1982 by the town of Saint-Amable. The protected natural environment is the only connectivity link between the northern and southern portions of the Bois de Verchères; it is a component of the Mont Saint-Bruno forest corridor.
