Roncesvalles is in Navarra, Spain. It's the first city on the Spanish side of the Camino Frances of the Way of St. James.

Roncesvalles is a small settlement with an important history and reputation. With only 20 residents, it is the most commonly serves as the first night stop on the Camino Frances of the Way of Saint James for those that started from the very popular starting point in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on the French side, or as the starting point for the Camino (mostly for Spanish people).

  • Bus - from Pamplona. only very few times a day.
  • Taxi - from Pamplona. around 50-70EU.

  • only by walking, as it a small town.

  • Albergues (For Pilgrims only) - there are two in town, one large than the other, with many many beds. be aware that they close at 22:00, and nobody allowed in or out after that!
