Port Jervis

Port Jervis is a village with about 8,800 inhabitants in Orange County, New York.

From late spring to early fall, many thousands of travelers and tourists pass through Port Jervis on their way to enjoying rafting, kayaking, canoeing and other activities in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River and the surrounding area.

• 🌍 Fort Decker Museum, 127 W. Main St. This stone house built in 1793 was part of a much larger fort at the site. It now functions as a museum, run by the Minisink Valley Historic Society. (updated Jun 2020)
• 🌍 Deerpark Reformed Church, 30 E Main St. Organized in 1737, this is one oldest congregation in the area. The current building dates from 1838. (updated Jun 2020)

• 🌍 Erie Railroad Roundhouse Turntable, 78 Pike St (parking lot). The largest functioning rail turntable, originally a part of the Erie railroad. (updated Mar 2023)

• 🌍 John Kucher Memorial Promenade, 12-14 Jersey Ave (on Front St.). 24/7. A promenade with many amenities such as a fountain, benches, and bike racks. It is named after John Kucher, a local business owner who was killed in a robbery in 2014. (updated Mar 2023)
