Porbandar is a city in Saurashtra in India. It is the historical birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, and the mythical birthplace of Sudama, the childhood friend of the Hindu god Krishna.

Porbandar is the birthplace of Sudama & Gandhi Ji. The majority of the people here belong to Kharwa community which mainly deals with fishing as their profession.

Porbandar is connected by broad gauge and is in western railway. There are daily trains between Rajkot, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Veraval Somnath.
