Northern Samar is one of the three provinces of Samar Island in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

Towns

  • 🌍 Biri — a municipality off the northern coast of Samar Island, which comprises Biri Island, Talisay, Magasang, and Cagnipa. Biri Island is notable for the unusual rock formations. It is included in the marine protected area known as Biri Larosa Protected Landscape and Seascape.

By plane

If you are looking for a comfortable and less time-consuming travel, you may book your flight from any of several airlines. Catarman, as the capital of Northern Samar, has its airport.

By bus

Buses from Manila going to the Visayas and Mindanao pass through its roll-on/roll-off port of Allen in the western side, which is about 45 minutes from Catarman. Some of the buses roll on to their destinations in the Visayas and Mindanao and the rest roll to their destinations in the eastern coastal towns of Northern Samar passing through Catarman. Buses and vans connect the capital town of Catarman to the cities of Calbayog, Catbalogan, and Tacloban.

Get around

Vans and jeepneys serve as transportation to the various towns in the province while boats going to the island municipalities of the province such Laoang, Biri, Capul, and San Antonio among others.
