North Sea Trail

The North Sea Trail is a hiking trail through the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The trail has a theoretical total length of about 4900 km, but so far only about 3700 km have been developed.

In some sections the trail uses existing coastal trails, and any markers on the ground may use that local name rather than North Sea Trail.

Moray Coast Trail. is a 45 mi (72 km) track between 🌍 Forres and Cullen. (updated May 2023)

Aberdeenshire is one of the partner regions that maintain a leg of the trail. It follows the beach from 🌍 Cullen through 🌍 Fraserburgh and 🌍 Peterhead to 🌍 Montrose.

The John Muir Way. is a path from Helensburgh on the Clyde to Dunbar. The eastern part of the route takes you through The Lothians from 🌍 Bo'ness via 🌍 Edinburgh to 🌍 Dunbar. (updated May 2023)

This Berwickshire Coastal Path starts about 9 mi (14 km) south of Dunbar. the John Muir Link path follows the coast to link the two paths.

The North Sea Trail uses the coastal section of the Cleveland Way.

Cleveland Way. is a path through the North York Moors. The coastal section goes from 🌍 Saltburn-by-the-Sea to 🌍 Filey (updated May 2023)

The trails follow the Dutch coast over a 725 km (450 mi) long route.
