Nikolayevsk-on-Amur (Russian: Никол'аевск-на-Амуре, neeh-koh-LAH-yeffsk nah ah-MOOH-reh) is a town in the Russian Far East, the industrial center of Khabarovsk Krai. The city is interesting for its complicated history. It was a capital of the Russian Far East in the 19th century.
It is the oldest port city in the east of Russia, and the administrative center of the Nikolaevsky district of the Khabarovsk Territory.
The town's population is 25,000 people.

Highway 08A-10 Selikhino - Nikolaevsk-on-Amur. It starts from the right turn of the 08A-1 Khabarovsk - Komsomolsk-on-Amur highway at 339 km. The length of the road is about 597 km, the surface is mainly unpaved. The road is passable all year round for all types of transport (excluding specific bad weather and natural disasters).
The city is on the left bank of the Amur, there is no bridge across the river, so to enter the city (or exit), you will have to use a river ferry plying through the Amur (Podgornoye village).
In the summer, from May 25 to October 1, the Meteor hydrofoil operates along the route: Komsomolsk-on-Amur - Nikolaevsk-on-Amur.
