Muhos is a town and municipality in the Western Oulu region, at the confluence of Muhos River into the Oulu River.

By train

Trains on the Oulu-Kajaani line stop in Muhos. Some trains come as far as from Helsinki.

By car

Highway 22 between Oulu and Kajaani passes through town. If you're coming from the south along Highway 4, take regional road 827 via Tyrnävä.

By bus

There are buses from Oulu (also city buses), Vaala, Utajärvi and Kajaani.

  • 🌍 Muhos church, Kirkkotie 3. Wooden church with a quite "slim" tower. It was finished in 1634 and is the third oldest wooden church in Finland. (updated Aug 2023)
