SH1 is named Union Street as it passes through the centre of Milton

The population is only about 2,000 and some of Milton's few streets are named for British writers such as Burns, Chaucer, Johnson, Scott, Shakespeare and Spencer. For most travellers, Milton is just a toilet stop on SH1 which passes right through its centre.
