Mandacaru

Mandacaru is a village in Northern Maranhão, on the outskirts of Lençóis Maranhenses Mostly serving as a quick stop for daytrippers from Barreirinhas, there is now a small inn in the building.

Get in

Boat to Atins and Barreirinhas once a day, R$ 5. Negotite a fare with any boat at the pier. You can walk to Atins in about 1.5 hours.

  • 🌍 Mandacaru Lighthouse (Preguiças Lighthouse). Climb the 163 steps of the lighthouse to get quite a view.
