But the location and atmosphere is grand (if you can get a table on the river patio or balcony) and if don't have too high expectations about food quality and service, it's worth a visit. 
• Pastry Shoppe, 202 Parkway Ave (downtown, next to the Mane Theater). closes at 4 PM. Good value and taste for pastries and lunch. Seats 25. They also do wonderful catering. 
• Chat 'n Chew, 701 Parkway Ave (7 min. walk from downtown). closes at 3 PM. A traditional, old-time breakfast and lunch diner with the charm of fair-priced standard American fare with varying degrees of service quality. 
• Spud Boy Diner. Breakfast and lunch. Circa 1925 diner car refurbished and placed on a small lot on Lanesboro's main street. Great food and excellent coffee. Booth seating for ladies.
