Kolomyia

Kolomyia (Ukrainian: Коломия) (multiple spellings, also Kolomyja, Kolomyya, Kolomiya) is a town in the Ukrainian part of East Galicia. The town is in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains and therefore often serves as a starting point for hiking or cultural site-seeing tours in the Eastern Carpathians.

City Hall

The most common means of public transportation in the region is bus. There are many bus lines covering the whole town of Kolomyia and connecting it to many other destinations in the Carpathians. One trip within the town costs around 1 грн.

Many imposing buildings dating back to the 19th century. There are quite a few interesting churches in the centre as well.

• Museum of Easter Eggs. Pysanka Museum. A special museum designed itself as a huge Easter egg. 
• 🌍 National Museum of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya Folk Art, Teatralna 25. Tu-Su 10:00-18:00. This museum is dedicated to the local traditional Slavic tribes whose centre is Kolomyia. 12 грн. 
• Museum of the Town's History.

Don't miss the beautiful souvenirs made by the Hutsuls. You can see them in the local markets.
