Kamarina
ancient city on the southern coast of Sicily
Kamarina (Greek: Καμάρινα) was a Greek city founded by the Corintian-Syracusans in 598 BC. Nowadays the site is known as the Archeological Park of Kamarina, and it is 25km from Ragusa.
Kamarina was destroyed several times; first by the Punic-Cartaginians (403 BC), then by the Romans (258 BC) and at the last time by the Arabs in 827.
