Jacareí is a city of 235,000 people (2020) in Grande São Paulo in Brazil. The city is known as "Capital of Beer" by the daily output of its factories, considered the biggest in Latin America.
The economic activity is mainly based on industrial production. The industries produce mainly paper, chemicals, glass, wire, and rubber.
The city's climate is subtropical . The average annual temperature is 21.3 °C, with the coldest month being July (average of 17.5 °C) and the hottest month in February (average of 24.4 °C).
Jacareí's collective transport company Jacareí Transporte Urbano operates about 25 bus lines.
The Cultural Foundation of Jacarehy "José Maria de Abreu" provides spaces for the artistic expression of the population.
The Parque da Cidade has a tennis court, indoor soccer and multi - sports courts, a walking track, gym equipment, stage for artistic presentations, exhibition grounds, and a bicycle path. Several gardens were built and around 100 species of trees were planted, including imperial palm, brazilwood and ironwood.
Jacareí has a professional football team, the Jacareí Atlético Clube, which competes in Series B of the Campeonato Paulista.
Jacareí also has a shopping mall with six movie theaters (two 2D and one 3D), one of which is the largest in the region.
