Holmes Chapel, until 1974 known as Church Holme, is a village in Cheshire. It's only five miles west of the frontier of the known universe, thanks to Jodrell Bank radio telescope. With a population of 6000, Holmes Chapel is mainly a commuter town for the galaxy known as Greater Manchester.

  • 🌍 St Luke's Church, London Road. The present church originated about 1430 as a timber-framed building with a Perpendicular sandstone west tower. 
  • 🌍 Twemlow Viaduct. 1841 viaduct was designed for the Manchester and Birmingham Railway Company by George W. Buck. 
  • 🌍 Jodrell Bank, Lower Withington (near Goostrey), ☏ +44 1477 571766. Home of the Lovell Radio Telescope, listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

  • Dane Meadow (footpath running from Moreton Drive to the A50 by the bridge at Cranage), . Dane Meadow is a 7-hectare area of land to the north of Holmes Chapel within the Dane Valley.
