Forsyth
city in and county seat of Rosebud County, Montana, United States
Forsyth is a town in southeastern Montana. In 2020, about 1,600 people lived here. It is located on the southern bank of the Yellowstone River.
Understand
The town is split by the railroad tracks with about ⅓ on the street where the interstate exits are located. Three streets have railroad crossings to reach the rest of the town: Hwy 12, 10th Ave (near the Town Pump), and Slaughterhouse Rd (directly off the east I-94 exit).
Get in
Forsyth is on I-94 with two exits, #93 and #95. It can also be reached on Hwy 12.
There are no commercial flights or passenger trains servicing Forsyth. There is bus service by Rimrock Stages. The nearest large airport is Billings and another airport is in Miles City.
Get around
There is no taxi service for Forsyth. You will need a vehicle to get around.

- County Courthouse (1200 Main St), built in 1913 by the well known Link & Haire architectural firm from Montana.
- Downtown Historic District, featuring several buildings constructed before 1930. Several local residences are on the National Register of Historic Places as well. The city website has a walking tour brochure.
- Bob Watts Murals - a growing collection of large murals on Main Street buildings, all by resident artist Bob Watts.
