Fife is a town of 11,000 people (2020) in the southwestern Puget Sound region of Washington State. Fife, an eastern suburb of Tacoma, consists primarily of businesses such as car dealerships, warehousing and industrial facilities, motels, drive-through smoke shops, quick-dining restaurants, a Native American casino, and various other highway-side businesses. Fife is contained within the Puyallup Indian Reservation.

Get in

Interstate 5 (I-5) and State Route (SR)-99 pass through Fife. SR-99 ends at its intersection with 54th Ave E but the road itself, Pacific Highway, continues past 54th Ave E into Tacoma. From I-5 Fife is accessed through Exits 136 and 137.

Get around

  • Route 500 Continues south from Federal Way to downtown Tacoma on Pacific Hwy (Hwy 99) through Fife. Connections to Greyhound, Amtrak and Sound Transit are at Tacoma Dome Station.
  • Route 501 Goes down towards Tacoma from Federal Way through Edgewood, Milton, and Fife on different turns onto various roads. In Fife it goes along 20th St East, Valley Ave, 70th Ave E and Milton Way.

There are numerous strip malls and fast food restaurants along Pacific Ave E.
