Faya, also known as Faya-Largeau a city in Saharan Chad.
Faya is the largest city in northern Chad, the capital of Bourkou-Ennedi-Tibesti prefecture. Faya has a population of about 40,000 (2012). During the colonial era, the town was renamed Largeau, while after independence, it was initially known as Faya-Largeau. Due to the considerable underground water supply in the town, agriculture is the main industry. Three lakes lie immediately north of Faya.
