Fairbourne

Fairbourne is a small village on the coast of Gwynedd west of Dolgellau.

South of the River Mawddach estuary.

• On the A493 9 miles from Dolgellau.
• Lloyds coache 28 from Tywyn and Dolgellau
• 🌍 Fairbourne railway station. Cambrian Coast Railway with services from Pwllheli and Machynlleth. Train in each direction only every two hours. (updated Feb 2024)

• 🌍 Barmouth Bridge. 900 yards (820 m) maily wooded bridge with single rail track and foot crossing of the Afon (river) Mawddach to Barmouth 

• The beach. Lovely long sandy beach. However access over boulders hard for people with poor mobility. (updated Feb 2024)

• Fairbourne golf club. Bar open to visitors. (updated Feb 2024)
• Mawddach Trail. Walk or cycle along the 9 mile stretch of former railway line, that runs along the scenic estuary of the Mawddach river, from Morfa Mawddach, through Penmaenpool towards Dolgellau. 

• Fairbourne Chippy, 5-7 Station Rd, ☏ +44 7876 670262. Freshly made fish and chips. Limited opening hours. Closes by 7.30 PM. (updated Feb 2024)
