While DC Comics characters have been featured in motion pictures since at least the 1940s, the DC Extended Universe is a continuity of live-action films distributed by Warner Bros., beginning with Man of Steel in 2013.

As of July 2019, the filming series of consists of 7 films that have been released, 6 films to be released in 2020-2022, 1 more that is in production, and 20 that are in development. The film series was shot in locations around the world, most of them available to visit.
