Cuneo is a town in Piedmont. The capital and largest settlement in the Province of Cuneo, it is famous for being a bastion of the Italian Resistenza, which was one of the fiercest opponents to Nazi Germany as well as their puppet state local regime, the Italian Social Republic. Nowadays it is a small yet vibrant town with over 55,000 inhabitants, beautiful architecture, breathtaking natural beauty, and a good base for day-trips
