Bundesautobahn 7
federal motorway in Germany
At 961.6 kilometers, the Federal Motorway 7 (BAB 7 or A 7) is the longest German federal motorway and also the longest continuous national motorway in Europe. It runs from north to south from the Danish border in Ellund through the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Hesse, then switches back and forth several times between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg and ends at the Austrian border in the border tunnel near Füssen. In Austria we continue on the state road B 179 (Fernpassstraße} over the Fernpass.
