Bumi Hills is the name of a group of hills and luxury hotel in Mashonaland West province Zimbabwe. The hotel is situated on hilly ground overlooking the southern shore of Lake Kariba. The area is noted for its fantastic wildlife and magnificent views, especially the view out across Lake Kariba from the main Bumi Hills ridge
Tonga is the most widely spoken language in this area, but most people, especially staff at the numerous lodges/hotels in the area speak Shona and English
Bumi Marine operate a 16-seater transfer boat between Kariba and the lodges/camps along the Kariba shoreline.
Note that fuel is only available in Harare, Chinhoyi, Karoi and Chalala and the road between Siakobvu and Bumi Hills requires a good 4 wheel drive vehicle.
The Bumi Hills Wildlife Area has 4 of the Big Five and boasts fantastic populations of smaller creatures and abundant birdlife. This totally natural, unfenced wildlife area also offers a huge variety of scenic pleasures to feed the soul of the naturalist at heart!
