Colombian municipality of the department of Boyacá


Boyacá is a city in Boyacá Department, Colombia. It is famous among history buffs as the site of an 1819 battle in which Simon Bolivar led an army fighting for South American independence from the Spanish Empire. Bolivar's victory at Boyaca is credited with being key to the independence of Peru and Bolivia.

  • Hacienda Baza. Offers very good food, and a colonial hotel experience as authentic as possible. The Hotel has 12 rooms built in what was a Dominican Monastery. Every room has its own chimney, ensuite and all modern facilities. It is surrounded by wonderful gardens and mountains.
