Bahia Interior

Bahia Interior is a large region that covers the less-developed west and north of the state of Bahia in Brazil. It includes the "Coconut Coast" (Costa dos Coqueiros), which is the most northern region on the coast of Bahia, Brazil.

• 🌍 Alagoinhas — the excellent quality of its water has attracted several breweries
• 🌍 Feira de Santana — home of the Antares Astronomical Observatory
• 🌍 Juazeiro — a city with a busy waterfront that can be a base for exploring waterfalls in the region
• 🌍 Paulo Afonso — you can visit the hydroelectric complex of three dams that provides power for much of Northeast Brazil

• 🌍 Barra do Jacuipe — its beach is said to be one of the most beautiful natural landscapes to be found on the coast of Bahia
• 🌍 Barreiras — has several rivers and waterfalls
• 🌍 Bom Jesus da Lapa — pilgrimage to the Bom Jesus da Lapa Sanctuary draws millions of visitors each year
• 🌍 Barra do Jacuipe — its beach is said to be one of the most beautiful natural landscapes to be found on the coast of Bahia
• 🌍 Entre Rios — has several beautiful beaches, including one of the nine official naturist beaches in Brazil
• 🌍 Esplanada — beautiful dunes and beaches, ecological tours and trails
• 🌍 Guarajuba — it has one of the busiest beaches on the north coast of Bahia, with stalls and restaurants
• 🌍 Iraquara — visitors come to see the caves such as: Pratinha, Lapa Doce, Torrinha, Gruta Azul, Gruta da Fumaça
• 🌍 Itacimirim — a beachtown with inns and a luxury resort with restaurants
• 🌍 Jacobina — home to numerous colonial-period historic structures
• 🌍 Mangue Seco — a fishing village of a few hundred people famous for its sand dunes and white sand beaches
• 🌍 Morro do Chapéu — its main attractions are Ferro Doido waterfall and Brejões cave, both beautiful natural monuments
• 🌍 São Desidério — its Ilha do Vítor community is a group of artisans who produce handicraft items with raw materials native to the region
• 🌍 Sauípe — Costa do Sauípe's hotels and resorts form the largest tourist complex in Brazil
• 🌍 Subaúma — a beach village of a couple hundred people
• 🌍 Sobradinho — a town created in the 1970s to accommodate the inhabitants of four cities and thirty villages who had to leave their homes when the reservoir was created
