Askim
former municipality in Østfold in Norway
Askim is a municipality in the county of Østfold, Norway. Askim centre had 13,822 inhabitants in 2014. It lies next to the longest river in Norway, Glomma, and has always been a strategic point in wars due to its bridges across the river. It is situated about 50 kilometres southeast of Oslo.

Traditionally, Askim is an industrial town. Together with the three hydroelectric power stations, Glava, producing glass wool for insulation and the Viking-Askim tyre factory (closed down in 1991) have been the cornerstone industries.
