ʻEua is an island in Tonga just southeast from Tongatapu.
The island has a surface area of just under 90 square km and had a population of just over 5,000 people as of 2021.
It is split into Old 'Eua to the north and New 'Eua to the south.
A 2 1/2- to 3-hour ferry ride from Tongatapu is available.
Watch out for the visiting humpback whales during June to November, they often swim remarkably close to the island of ʻEua.
