Who am I?:

Hello! My name is Joseph Indovina. I am a second-year information technology student at York University aiming to become a software developer in the future. I am very interested in computers, along with the hardware and software contained within them, which is the general reason I chose this field. Not exactly sure what kind of software development I’m aiming to get into yet, but I am leaving my options open since the field is so massive.

Skills and Accomplishments:

Some of my skills include:

  • Programming software in Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and a little bit of C#.
  • Knowledge about hardware within computers.
  • Social Media (decently large YouTube channel and several art accounts)
  • Digital Art and Traditional Art
  • 3D Modeling

And hopefully more to come!

My main skill is, of course, programming, so I do have some things to show for it. I have done a lot of modding for video games in the past, as well as dabbling in developing my own games. I have also created informational software, for example, one that teaches others how to program using a built-in IDE. The program would give explanations of certain concepts and then allow the user to complete a challenge, which would be checked by the program to see if the user code output matches with the correct one.

Art is another skill I’ve picked up, and while I mostly do digital art nowadays, I also have done a lot of traditional art like sketching and painting in the past. While it isn’t necessarily a skill related to technology, I’m sure there are applications that can be made; one that comes to mind is video game development and animation. Here are some of my recent pieces:

Repair Experience:

As mentioned before, I love computers and have a lot of experience with the hardware. For one, I have had so many issues with my current computer I have pretty much lost count of how many. I have fixed all of them and have also helped many of my friends build and fix their computers as well. I believe that with enough time and effort, I can fix anything I put my mind to (except for my cable management haha!).

Hobbies:

  • Programming / software development.
  • Art (Traditional, Digital, and 3D Modelling).
  • Working Out / going to the gym.
  • Playing video games.
    • Some that I’m playing right now: Balatro, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, The Binding of Isaac, Terraria.
  • Walking, specifically very long ones through trails.
  • Listening to music.
  • Collecting vinyls.

Fun Facts:

  • I own two crested geckos; Dorito and Delta, both around 4-5 years old.

  • Some of my favorite music artists include The Weeknd (especially his older stuff), Daniel Caesar, Beach House, Steve Lacy, Kanye West, Tyler The Creator, Magdelena Bay, and Brent Faiyaz.
  • I love collecting vinyls, I have around thirty at the moment but it is growing super quickly. It might be an addiction at this point.
  • Some of my favorite games are Terraria, Elden Ring, The Binding of Isaac, Minecraft, and Risk of Rain 2
  • I love the TV show Arcane, truly a masterpiece of a show in my eyes. Other than that, I don’t watch too many TV shows. I’ve seen many of the critically acclaimed ones like Breaking Bad and Stranger Things, and while they were amazing in their own right, nothing hit me as hard as Arcane did.
