I just completed a repair on this model and easily removed the display with a combination of heat and 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. 25 minutes on the heat mat at 75 degrees C, use a thin metal pry tool to create an opening, then drip the alcohol using a syringe bottle along the edge and pry with plastic guitar pics.
