    • Insert a spudger into the ridge between the screen and the back of the device, creating a small gap.

    • Run the spudger along the edge of the screen and around the corners to separate the screen from the rest of the device.

    • Be careful not to use more force than necessary with the metal spudger or else the device could potentially be scratched.

    • Do not fully lift or pull the screen away from the device once it is loose because the internal connectors are still attached.

Too easy, followed the instructions without drama or problem.

I bought this as a school Chromebook for my son expecting the screen to be broken at some point and I was right. Most of the kids have cracked screens by end of year
Screen replacement was a 1/4 of the price of the original device.

However, the only replacement screen I could find to purchase (AliExpress) did not have a frame attached, nor did it have the cable.

I tested the new screen before attaching the frame.

I used the spudger to carefully prise the glued on frame from the broken screen. This was difficult and involved glass splinters as the original screen was dropped on its corner.

A knife was used to clean the original glue and glass splinters from the frame, with alcohol cleaner to finish the clean.

I used the double sided sticky tape supplied to stick the frame to the screen.

I took the cable from the old screen and attached to the new and then reversed the instructions as advised.

Very happy customer (and relieved child)
