Introduction
Crayons are not the sturdiest of materials because their waxy substance makes them easy to break into pieces when mishandled. Because crayons are widely used, it is important to find ways to repurpose broken crayon pieces for easier handling and reducing environmental waste.
In this guide, we will be melting down broken crayons to rebuild them into easier-to-handle shapes. The procedure can be performed by people of all expertise, but should be handled by those ages 15 and above because of hot materials.

Cut a piece of aluminum foil about 6x2 inches.

Fold the 6 inch side of foil in half.

Fold up all four sides of the foil to create a thin rectangle, about 1 inch away from the edges.

Pinch up the corners of the foil by following the folded creases made in the last step.

Repeat this step for all four corners.

Place mold into a heat-safe container.

While holding onto the mold, carefully pour in boiling water up to the rim of the mold.

Wait for the wax to fully melt.

Take the mold out of the water once cooled.

When wax has moderately hardened, loosen the sides of the foil from the wax.

Cut a corner of the foil mold and unwrap the crayon.

Leave the newly created crayon in a cool and dry area overnight to fully solidify before use.
