2011-2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty Rear Taillight (Shell Only) Replacement

Introduction

Got a Ford F-250/350 that needs its taillight shell reflective shell replaced? If so you've come to the right place! This is a brief guide to help guide you through the process of swapping this part out with simple language and straight forward instructions.

Tools

5/16" Wrench

Step 1

Use a 5/16 socket or wrench to remove the two screws that secure the taillight shell.

Step 2

To remove fixture completely place your hands in same position as in the picture and pull with moderate force.
Use an additional set of hands if needed.
Remember where to locate pin slots for new shell installment.

Step 3

Twist the upper bulb mount to the right and remove it from the shell.

Step 4

Twist the lower bulb mount to the right and remove it from the shell.

Step 5

The remainder of the guide details reassembly.
Reinstall each bulb by aligning with corresponding slots, and lock them in place by twisting them to the left.

Step 6

Align all four pins and insert them into the housing.
It may take a few tries but its important to align all 4 pins or you could risk bending or damaging components within the housing.
Once aligned, evenly place your hands on top and bottom to apply even pressure along the shell and click it into place.
If successful the taillight should stay in place without needing assistance.

Step 7

Replace the mounting screws.
