Background

The LG VX8550 (LG Chocolate Spin) shares many of the same general features and style cues as the original VX8500. To access the number pad, you push up on the bottom of the phone, sliding it open and revealing the hidden pad. The VX8550 has improved touch controls, such as a mechanical selection wheel (as opposed to the touch-sensitive control pad) which differentiates it from the original VX8500.

The phone comes with 72 MB of internal storage space, but a microSD card can be used to allow for more music storage. It also has a 1.3-megapixel camera and three buttons on the side for the lock, music, and microphone.

It was released in 2007 and discontinued in 2008 and was replaced by the LG Chocolate 3.

Identification

The LG VX8550 phone has a sleek, "chocolate bar" shape. It came in multiple colors including black, black cherry (red), blue mint (blue), and ice blue (light blue). You can identify your phone by the model number and serial number, which are printed on a sticker on the back of the phone or beneath the battery.
