Hello! My name is Brooke Don, and I am a Design and Communications Undergraduate student at the University of California, Davis. The two majors I am working towards completing are communications and design, which I plan to use to create advertisements for high-end or everyday fashion companies. I’d enjoy exploring this career path either from the research side of the job or from a graphic designer standpoint. To earn a research position, I would examine how effective or ineffective advertisements are for intended consumers. However, if I were to take a graphic design position, I would be able to be on the creative side of ads. I have always had a deep interest in fashion and brand awareness, thus making fashion marketing and advertising the ideal job for me and my intended majors. I am proficient in Adobe software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I am also familiar with Google Workspace and various AI tools such as Gemini and Open AI. In the past, I have repaired many clothing items, especially pants, by stitching holes closed and hemming the length of many pants. I have sewn and crocheted many bags that I have sold in the past, and I am very proud of them.

In February 2023, I received the Kraft Prize, which is awarded to freshmen at the University of California Davis who have achieved the highest grade point averages. I am the Director of Recruitment Events for the sorority organization Delta Delta Delta (also known as Tri Delta). As such, I am responsible for coordinating all design and planning efforts for the chapter's formal and informal recruitment processes.

I enjoy running, going to the gym, playing soccer, sewing, and crocheting in my spare time. I also love traveling and exploring new cities. This project will allow me to apply my crafting skills and showcase a helpful skill set that will hopefully be useful to others with repair needs. I could not live without pasta and sushi, which are interestingly very different foods. My favorite artists currently include Sublime, Weezer, Oasis, and Charli xcx, but I’m interested in all kinds of music and always love to hear new songs!
