Hello! My name is Ethan and I am a student at UMass Dartmouth with a major in Computer Science.
You could say that my interest in technology and computer science started with video games for me. Gaming is a hobby I've had for a long time. It started when my parents first got a Wii and grew even more once we got an Xbox 360, which I would still consider to be one of my favorite consoles to this day. My interest in computer science in particular though started in HS, when I decided to do career/technical degree in Computer Information Systems, which was one of the vocational/technical degrees my high school offered.. I learned the basics of IT, such as installing an operating system, coding, and even things like soldering which helped fill the gaps in my knowledge.
Other skills I gained later on were inventory management and Microsoft excel from my job where I did packaging and shipping for a local company. I've also gained skills coding in different programming languages, particularly java and python. I currently have a 4.0 GPA at my school and made the Chancellors list last fall (3.8 GPA or higher)
Another hobby important to me is running. Running is something that I've been doing since HS, where I first tried track and cross country and joined the HS team. I'm currently on the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country and Track Teams.
