Hi! My name is Jessica Li and I am a second-year undergraduate student at UC Davis majoring in design. Although I am much of a fixer or professional in any field, I do enjoy many hands-on activities and projects that I've done in a few past courses.
One course I took very recently at UC Davis allowed me to frequently think outside of the box and step out of my comfort zone as a design student. It was a course that focused on 3D principles and structures, with the final project being a portion of a to-scale, life-sized parklet. This project was not only difficult because of the thorough calculations and immense amount of planning required, but also because it was my first time working with such a large-scale project. The final project ended up approximately 5 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide.
