Hello, my name is Kalon.
I am a student at UC Davis. I'm currently working towards a double major in design and computer science. It's not easy but I really want the opportunity to explore STEM fields and design. I aspire to have the freedom to explore my many interests instead of having to specialize in a single field of study. I have some experience in other fields of study such as biomedical engineering, and the study of the Japanese language.
I've had many interests over the years and I'm working towards getting more involved in those interests. I've worked on many personal craft/art projects such as needle felting, embroidery, sculpture, etc. I've been able to participate in many art programs as well as programs in STEM. I've been a part of a UI/UX design club, a karate club, and coding clubs. I'm currently pursuing my interest in tech, the Japanese language, karate, and the arts, but I still have much to learn.
I'm hoping my work with ifixit will introduce me to more repair projects. In both the arts and tech there is a lot of waste so I'm hoping doing an ifixit project will inspire me to make repairing a continuous habit in my life.
Some fun facts about me:
- I love many types of music (currently into classic rap/hip-hop)
- I really want a cat
- I used to do horse riding
- I used to do archery -> still want to
- I'm a dual citizen ->both America and the UK
- I love to cook
